The National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge is having an impact on the U.S. blood supply.

Only 3% of U.S. Latino/Hispanic population donates blood; less than half of the % of the general U.S. population. Yet, the Latino/Hispanic community is the fastest segment of the U.S. population, and soon will be the largest segment; and has the largest % of O- type blood, the universal blood type. See the problem? See the opportunity?

We have to turn around this bad situation into an opportunity to improve the blood supply in our nation.  With the National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge, college student leaders have the opportunity to turn this around.  By inviting college student leaders to participate in this Latino/Hispanic donor recruitment campaign, we believe we can double the Latino/Hispanic donor participation rate within a few short years.

Join the campaign!

You may participate as a donor, volunteer, sponsor, organizer, etc. There are many ways you may participate.  Contact us at SiSePuede@ChavezChallenge.org or 509-368-7132
